Giving Back
In 2021, over $260,000 went back into local non-profits through the North Idaho State Fair and year round KC Fairgrounds events.
Awarded Scholarships
$90,000 in scholarships have been awarded to outstanding youth in North Idaho through the efforts of the North Idaho Fair & Rodeo Foundation.
Cancer Care Support
The Chicks N Chaps have raised over $260,000 since the program's inception.
Over $96,000 of that has been donated to the Kootenai Health Foundation for their Cancer Support Fund to help local families since 2012. Support to KHFCAF in 2021 reached $36k!
Providing Meals
Meat donations from the annual fair on average exceeded a $60,000 value and went to multiple local non-profits. From these donations, the Children's Village typically has enough meat to last them a full year.
4-H Support
In 2021, 118 local businesses and individuals provided $1,012,636 that went back to the 350+ 4-H members with market projects. Many of which buy their animals, feed and supplies locally.
Class of 2020 will WALK
During the COVID-19 crisis with the help of our fair production teams all Kootenai County Seniors were giving the opportunity to safely hold graduation in a not so conventional way but the milestone was accomplished!
Connecting Farmers & Food Banks
Kootenai/Shoshone Farm Bureau purchased a semi load of potatoes from Idaho Potatoes farmers to help with the excess and avoid waste. The Fairgrounds was able to aid in the distribution of excess potatoes to local food banks during the COVID-19 crisis.
Youth and Agriculture
Annually, nearly 1,700 Kootenai County 5th grade students participated in a hands-on agriculture education field trip at the Fairgrounds, where they learned how food gets from the farm to their tables.
Summer Service Day
Each year volunteers from North Idaho roll up their sleeves and help tackle projects at the Fairgrounds to help keep the grounds beautiful
Growing the Sport of Rodeo
Each year, the GSS Rodeo Committee volunteers time to run a rough stock rodeo clinic to help train upcoming contestants and continue the sport's growth in the Northwest.
Did You Know?
Through the resourceful efforts of the Fair Board and Staff, over $1.8 million in capital improvements have occurred on the facility since 2017.
Funds solely provided by grant funding and community support.
Did You Know?
Nearly 450,000 people visit the Fairgrounds annually for various events.
